With the Spring Provincial Championships completed it was the dawn of a new series at Poplar Grove raceway in Killarney. So many questions left to be answered, would the same racers dominate their classes? Would the newly advanced riders struggle or raise their game to a new level? And lastly could it possibly get hot enough to make a person re-evaluate their life choices to ensure they never see this kind of heat in the afterlife?

Adam Wiebe started the Fall series off with a personal best. Wiebe posted 3-2 finishes for Second overall in the 50cc 4-6 class. Ryan Kokorudz took both motos and the overall, while Madison McAlinden completed the podium trio.

Jeremy Breemersch triple classed it at Killarney running the 85cc 12-16, Supermini and 125 Junior classes. Breemersch grabbed a pair of Third place finishes on the mini and secured a top five finish in 125 Junior going 4-9 for Fifth overall.

Jessica Bell scored her first two moto wins of 2007 in the Little Ladies class to take the overall. Rachel Regier and Autumn Garnham round out the top three.

After claiming one Pro title in the Spring series, Westside Honda’s Adam Pfeiffer appears to have his sights set on both titles for the Fall championships. Pfeiffer took all four motos and the overalls in the 125 and 250 Pro classes. The gregscustom.com Suzuki’s of Nick Dunn and Aaron Pfrimmer followed Pfeiffer to the 125 Pro podium, while Dunn and the Winnipeg Sport & Leisure Honda of Mike Harms filled the final two steps on the box in 250 Pro.

Ontario’s JC Hupe showed up in Killarney to contest the Ladies class. Hupe used a Second place finish in the second moto to win the tiebreaker and Second overall from Spring champ Bev Bryce-Leger. Ami Houde returned from her run at the Nationals to take both motos.

In 50cc 7-8 racing Nathan Williamson managed a top three finish in the first moto in this very competitive class. A Fourth place finish in the second moto left Williamson in Fourth overall behind the podium of Cole DeKoninck, D.J. Burmey and Nick Kiewning.

Blazing fast Braden Jonsson managed to put it all together this weekend to claim his first overall of the season. Jonsson put together a 1-3 ride in GP Junior for the overall ahead of Pearce McKellar and Lindsay Masse.

Proof positive that great starts are a fast track to the podium, Michael Giesbrecht (261) took the overall ahead of Marcus Wiebe and Marcus Giesbrecht (301).

65cc B class racers saw the return of Cole Sawatzky to the field. Sawatzky grabbed Second overall between Brendan Kokorudz and Zack Simpson.

Devon Ward took the overall and grabbed an early point lead in what is sure to be a dogfight in the 250 Intermediate class. Luke McFadden with a 5-1 day and Colin Cyr with a mirror image 1-5 day complete the podium.

As Lance Armstrong would tell you “it’s not about the bike”. Even though he is giving up 20cc’s riding his 65 in the 85cc 7-11 class Jordan Devloo cracked the top five, taking Fourth overall with a 4-7 ride.

Brandon RV & Leisure’s first year Pro Brady Breemersch returned to the local scene in Killarney after running the CMRC MX2 West series. Breemersch traded moto wins with Westside Honda’s Eddie Anderson in the Youth class. Breemersch got the second mot and the tiebreaker to secure the overall. Adam Saban stood on the third step of the podium.

In 65cc PeeWee racing Ryan Linto took the first moto on his way to Second overall behind Ty Shemko and ahead of Donald Fossay.

The 250 Junior class saw two of its fastest racers move up to the Intermediate class for the Fall. The rest of the class didn’t have long to celebrate before they learned there was a new Sheriff in town after Lindsay Masse showed up with his injured dad Paul’s 450 in the truck at Killarney. Masse took both motos on the way to the overall edging out Randall Klassen and Ian Smith for top honours.

Peter Tereck had a breakout ride in Killarney grabbing his first 125 Intermediate podium finish with Second overall.

Chris Elliot took home his first overall of the season going 2-2 in the 25+ class. Scott Unrau and Luke McFadden took Second and Third respectively.

The 250 Beginner class saw another first time victor in Killarney. Dustin Osborne took the overall with 3-1 rides. Gary Phillips followed his victory in the first moto with a fifth in moto two for Second overall. Chris Raffard filled the Third spot on the box.

See you at the races...
